Photo from the internet because I can't get a clear shot, but I'm currently looking at a Piaggio Spa P180. Front canards and two rear facing pusher props, so cool.

I used to see these fly into my home ‘drome often. They have a unique sound when flying overhead; can’t mistake it for anything else.

We need more pusher props in the world

Had I won MegaBall, a P180 and/or one of these were on my list:
Maybe next time...

No because they’re loud AF. And it’s not a pleasant loud , either.

Are there any Starships still flying? Parts were getting to be an enormous problem for those things. Someone was collecting airframes just to keep a couple flying, last I heard.

There’s at least one still flying, I see it regularly.

Good! That airplane never met its design goals, but is still cool as hell, so I’d hate to see them all relegated to museums.

Canards: Because every other aerodynamicist is wrong and incapable of your brilliance.

They make much more sense with a delta wing, yes.

Fair point.

DYAC - you don’t understand Italian corporate framework and think this is a time to relax and be pampered?

Are they loud from inside as well? I know normal turboprops are crazy loud inside, but I thought the whole point of having them so far aft was that they were quieter for the passengers.
Edit: 68 dba interior, 82 dba exterior during takeoff (which apparently is less than the Beechcraft King Air’s 83 dba?). The EVO is also supposed to be 68% quieter from the outside, although what
exactly
they mean by this seems to be fuzzy. I’d venture something between a 3 and 10 dba reduction.

Not wrong, just overly constrained by convention (and the regulations that go along with it).
Also technically the Piaggio is a three-surface, which to my mind is the most awesomest.

My understanding is that they are noisiest in flight, as the props are turning in disturbed air from the wing. Normally, turboprops are relatively quiet inside.
